Centuries of Black History
i want to bring the rich information of the african american citizens of st. AUGUSTINE that helped to make a change not only in st AUGUSTINE but a change for the whole nation. i will come with videos, pictures and information that you may not know about that happened during the civil rights movement in st AUGUSTINE. i feel for all who do not know the importance that st augustine played in getting the civil rights bill passed, especially with the times we are living through, it is truly needed now and always.
for school groups, i offer zoom calls with a tutorial of what happened when we marched for human rights, equality and dignity during the civil rights movement in st AUGUSTINE florida. along with pictures of dr. martin luther king jr. marching with us, this presentation is 1 1/2 hour long, with time remaining for a q&a with the students.
along with doing the black history tours, i am also available to do fort tours, along with spanish, british and french history of st AUGUSTINE, and you can also include "ghost tours" and a "scavenger hunt for the young people.
with JUneteenth now becoming a federal holiday
please join me, as we stand at the site were
the emancipation proclamation was read
and hear the stories and read the plaque that finally
states, that the so called slaves were free people, and
now would be citizenS of the united states of america.
for those who want to come in and watch a dramatic documentary, there will be a video in which you will see the abuse of young black americans on the streets of saint augustine fl in the 1960's, just for standing up for human rights, equality and dignity.
